DAMPAK CONTRACT FARMING TERHADAP SUBJECTIVE WELL-BEING: BUKTI DARI PETANI SAYURAN DI JAWA TIMUR

Abstract


Kajian mengenai subjective well-being saat ini menjadi sangat penting dalam upaya pengentasan kemiskinan, khususnya di kalangan petani. Pada kondisi saat ini, pendapatan belum tentu menjamin meningkatnya subjective well-being bagi petani. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini membahas tingkat subjective well-being dalam kaitannya dengan keberadaan kelembagaan pertanian, yaitu pola contract farming yang diyakini dapat membantu meningkatkan subjective well-being petani. Penelitian ini dilakukan di dua lokasi, yakni Kabupaten Batu dan Kabupaten Pasuruan, Provinsi Jawa Timur. Data dikumpulkan dari 200 petani sayuran. Berdasarkan analisis ordered probit, variabel contract farming memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap subjective well-being, yang mencakup kebahagiaan dan kepuasan hidup. Selain itu, variabel pengalaman bertani serta kepemilikan pinjaman atau kredit juga menunjukkan pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan. Sementara itu, variabel usia dan pendapatan rumah tangga menunjukkan pengaruh negatif namun signifikan terhadap kebahagiaan. Adapun dua variabel yang berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan hidup adalah pendapatan rumah tangga dan pinjaman atau kredit. Variabel jumlah anggota keluarga, pekerjaan sampingan, dan tingkat pendidikan tidak menunjukkan pengaruh signifikan terhadap subjective well-being.
